In 1888, Lucien Savatier was in charge of disarming the ship called the " Belle Poule ". (Historic anecdote: this frigate had repatriated the ashes of the Emperor Bonaparte from the Island of Saint Helena). He was at that period Director of the Iron-works and Shipyards of La Seyne-sur-Mer.
He saved the doors of the reliquary cabin which henceforth decorate the chapel of the Château. The "Cuvée Belle Poule " evokes this souvenir. |
